In the ever-evolving world of beauty, Boots, the UK's leading health and beauty retailer, has been at the forefront of transformation on the high street.
I am proud of the steps we have taken over the past three years to make beauty more accessible, inclusive, and available to everyone. There are now over 170 new and refreshed beauty halls across the UK, from full-size beauty playgrounds in large town centres such as St Albans and Macclesfield, to small format halls in locations such as East Kilbride, Grantham and Stratford-upon-Avon.
The latest milestone in this transformation is the exciting launch of our Boots Beauty concept store at the iconic Battersea Power Station in London on the 6th December. This new venture promises to not only redefine the beauty shopping experience, but also make beauty expertise and incredible brands even more accessible.
I am proud to share that the new store will feature an impressive line-up of 250 beauty brands spanning across skincare, cosmetics, hair care, and fragrance. Excitingly, we also are introducing new brands to Boots, such as R.E.M Beauty, Kerastase, Shu Uemura, and Bubble. It was important for us to ensure the new brands will be accessible to beauty enthusiasts nationwide, so all of the brands instore will also launch on boots.com on 6th December. The store also includes two Beauty Bars and a Hair Bar, where Boots Beauty Specialists will offer a range of free consultations, and weekly hair demonstrations will be available from Dyson and Drybar, which is a Boots-first.
The store would not be possible without its incredible team, and I am thrilled to share the exciting news that Boots is welcoming 35 dynamic Boots Beauty Specialists to join our already impressive 1,000-strong Beauty Crew. This infusion of expertise is not just a growth in numbers, it's a game-changer for our beauty customers – the store will see Boots Beauty Specialists with advanced training across skincare, haircare and fragrance offering our customers even deeper expertise.
As well as being a beauty haven, the new store is designed to offer a unique blend of both health and beauty, leaning into Boots pharmacy and healthcare heritage. Customers visiting the Boots Beauty store will have the opportunity to consult with a Boots Pharmacist, specially trained by leading dermatologist Dr. Justine Hextall. This collaboration aims to provide customers with free clinical advice on various skin concerns within a private consultation space.
This is a fantastic new opportunity for Boots and its customers, where they can access one-to-one advice from the dermatologist-trained pharmacist, as well as Boots Beauty Specialists who will be able to offer a range of skincare services, including skin scan and scalp diagnosis.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we always try to ensure our range reflects exactly what they want to see in our aisles. The store offers over 4,000 shades of complexion products, and our Beauty Bars are designed to be accessible for wheelchair users. We want everyone to feel beautiful, whether you want to spend £5 or £500, we have top-to-toe beauty solutions to suit all budgets in store with products starting at as little as 75p.
The grand opening of the Boots Beauty concept store at Battersea Power Station marks a significant step in Boots journey to redefine the beauty shopping experience. With an extensive range of brands, a blend of health and beauty expertise, and a commitment to accessibility, Boots continues to solidify its position as the UK’s leading beauty retailer. As the doors open on the 6th December, beauty enthusiasts can look forward to new concept beauty and skincare experiences, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
