Boots Beauty Specialists get your colour match spot on, every time with new UOMA Beauty

After a year of shopping beauty brands online, Boots UK customers are flocking back to the high street to freshen up their make-up bags as well as getting their hands on the biggest and best launches. Over the past year Boots has launched 36 new beauty brands and has just dropped UOMA to its ever-growing line-up, making it easier than ever before for beauty fans to go into store and test it out. Joining the likes of Fenty, MAC and Huda Beauty, UOMA is all about creating an inclusive and diverse world of beauty, and driving self-expression and empowerment through cosmetics with over 51 colour shades.

Boots Beauty Specialist Grace Maxey “Now that our customers are back in store and safely shopping beauty again, we’ve seen an increase in customers looking for advice on foundation and concealers, including colour matching, and tips around application. Here are some easy steps to get your colour-match right every time.”

1) Identify your undertone

“The first thing to do is find out whether you’re cool, neutral or warm-toned. We do this by analysing your veins and skin type. Signs of having warm undertones are likely to be seen in those who have green veins with skin that tans easily, while cool undertones usually present more pink or blue hues in the skin. So if you’re likely to burn easily or have bluer veins you would sway towards having a cooler undertone”

2) Change the lighting

“Once we have identified your undertone, we’ll chat through a couple of potential options and shades for you to try. As we are all wearing face masks in store at the moment I would suggest testing the product on the side of your palm. I would then go and take a look at it in natural light and see what you think.”

3) The test of time

“Finally, foundation colour can change ever so slightly as it oxidises. We’d recommend keeping the sample on for a few moments before making your final selection.”
