This World Cancer Day (4 February), Boots is supporting the global initiative to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.
Now in its fourteenth year, the award-winning partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support allows our team members to provide cancer support, expert advice and care every day through our Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists (BMIPs) and Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors (BMBAs).
Through Boots’ expertise in delivering healthcare and beauty information combined with Macmillan’s experience in supporting people living with cancer, Boots team members are able to help thousands of people on the high street and through online support services.
As the largest community pharmacy in the UK, Boots has also worked with the NHS to provide our award-winning Palliative Care service, which sees 2,000 Boots stores stocking the most commonly prescribed medicines for terminally ill patients. BMIPs have been given additional training to advise and direct those accessing this free specialist service.
