The Boots UK team celebrate 110 years of serving their local community in Bradford by proudly presenting their brand new store and Boots Opticians practice, which opened on Thursday 5 November 2015 as part of the new Westfield development in the Broadway Shopping Centre.
In an exciting time of redevelopment in Bradford, this new Boots store has been specifically designed to meet the pharmacy, health and beauty needs of its customers, and it was jointly unveiled by local school children fromGirlington Primary School and current and previous Boots colleagues who have worked in this community for many years. One of these colleagues is Rozita Kucharczuk, who tops the chart at an incredible 45 years of service – having started her career in Boots in the old Broadway Centre in Bradford in 1970.
Angela Gott, General Manager, Boots UK, Bradford Westfield Centre, said: “Over the years, many of our store team members have made remarkable friendships and relationships in the local community – and inviting these important colleagues to officially open our new store today is in recognition of their hard work and dedication to their patients and customers.”
Making a real difference to the Bradford community is a passion of the entire store team.
Angela, continues: “There are so many new and innovative aspects of the store that we’re very excited about, not only the new range of premium beauty brands, but also the integrated healthcare area, Boots Opticians practice, the new digital customer experience in-store, and the exciting services such as photo, Boots Order & Collect and many more.
“We have over 110 years of healthcare and beauty experience here in Bradford, and we are looking forward to helping our customers look and feel better than they ever thought possible for many more years to come”
The new Boots Opticians practice was officially unveiled by school children fromGirlington Primary School, who while there were also able to choose a free book. The practice team are working hard with the National Literacy Trust as part of the Bradford Literacy Campaign to promote the joy of reading along with the importance of good eye health.80 percent of a child’s learning occurs through sight1 and an undiagnosed vision problem can affect a child’s ability to concentrate for long periods of time and delay reading development. To help support children’s eye health and learning, the new practice will offer a library corner where children can discover books while waiting for their appointment. Bradford Bulls have supported the Bradford Literacy Campaign since its launch in 2014, and Chief Executive, Robbie Hunter-Paul, will be celebrating the opening of this new opticians practice from 12:00pm on Thursday 5 November 2015 by storytelling and distributing free books for early years children.
