Boots stands by Ukraine

10 March 2022
News CSR

The war in Ukraine is deeply sad and concerning to us all, and we stand united with all those affected by this humanitarian and refugee crisis.

Many of our team members and customers have asked Boots to help and in response we have made 1.4 million products such as first aid kits, PPE, baby products, basic toiletries and more available to the aid effort on our team members’ and customers’ behalf. We are making these products available to International Health Partners, a global health NGO based in the UK who are managing a direct and coordinated response to the growing crisis in Ukraine.

We are also taking a stance regarding products deriving from Russian businesses: No Boots or No7 own brand products are manufactured in Russia or supplied by Russian owned businesses. We have asked all our suppliers to ensure the same is true of any product that they supply to us.

Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine at this time.

2024 marks Boots’ 175th anniversary year. Founder John Boot opened a herbalist store in Nottingham in 1849 to offer an affordable alternative to traditional medicines. His son Jesse expanded the business to become a modern retailer and the biggest chemist in Britain. Throughout its history, Boots has listened, learned and innovated, and it continues to challenge itself to improve its products and services every day.

Boots is part of Walgreens Boots Alliance, which is a global leader in pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing retail.  More company information is available on boots-uk.com.
