Today Boots Opticians, rated the UK’s favourite opticians1, launches two new smart glasses brands, Ray-Ban Meta and Nuance Audio, marking a significant step forward in making tech-enabled eyewear more accessible and ensuring Boots Opticians continues to offer the latest eye-care technology to shoppers across the UK.
Available in selected stores from 30th July, both Ray-Ban Meta and Nuance Audio frames can be worn with a prescription. Boots Opticians in-store experts have received specialist training to assist customers and provide extensive support with smart glasses, including live demonstrations.
Nuance Audio eyewear has a built-in hearing solution to enhance speech for those with mild to moderate hearing loss and customers can benefit from a holistic care offering including referrals after eye tests at Boots Opticians or hearing tests at Boots Hearingcare.
Boots Opticians is the only multiple high-street retailer to offer transitions lenses as standard in both prescription and non prescription Nuance Audio frames*. These game-changing glasses will be available in six frames at 50 stores across the UK and will be priced from £999.
Ray-Ban Meta frames combine iconic style and advanced AI technology. With built-in headphones and a camera, wearers can live stream, take calls, send messages and translate text—all hands-free.
Boots Opticians will stock six Ray-Ban Meta frames in 201 stores. The super smart glasses can be worn with a prescription (only available with Ray-Authentic lenses) and are priced from £399.
42 Boots Opticians stores across the UK will stock both Nuance Audio and Ray-Ban Meta frames, providing shoppers with a convenient high street location alongside unrivalled expertise and advice.

Eye tests can be booked online at www.bootsopticians.com and can be upgraded to an Ultimate Eye Test in participating stores. The NHS recommends that all UK adults should have their eyes tested at least every two years as eyes change over time (or as advised by an optometrist).
