The team of 60 colleagues from the Boots UK Support Office in Nottingham and Boots stores across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland have packed their bags and are ready to take on this colossal eight-day challenge. They will climb a total of 5,895 metres (19,341ft) up Africa’s highest mountain for Macmillan Cancer Support to help make sure no one faces cancer alone.
Una Kent, Director of External Communications, Boots UK, who is taking on the challenge, said: “Cancer is often the toughest fight many people will ever face, so I know we are all really looking forward to doing our bit to help Macmillan reach more people and to help make sure no one faces cancer alone. The climb will be one of the toughest endurance challenges many of us have ever done, but we have all been very busy hat knitting, cake baking, throwing community fetes and taking part in sponsored cycles in our stores to make sure it is worth it. We are so incredibly grateful for all the support we have received from our communities; your donations really will make a huge difference.”
