Boots act as UK headline sponsor for Purple Tuesday 2025
Boots and No7 Beauty Company are proud to be the UK headline sponsors of Purple Tuesday, which aims to encourage businesses to improve the disabled customer experience, for the first time in our five-year partnership.
To mark the ‘mauve’ moment on behalf of Boots and No7 Beauty Company, Jamie Kerruish, Chief Healthcare Officer and Executive Sponsor of the Boots Group DisAbility Alliance Business Resource Group (BRG), headed to Piccadilly Circus to take part in Purple’s annual light switch on.
Boots is committed to creating a brilliant experience for all our colleagues and customers. This year, the leading health, wellness and beauty retailer has built on previous work to create a more inclusive shopping experience by:
-
Introducing new bitesize British Sign Language training for store and support office colleagues
-
Launching a store accessibility survey to help teams identify and remove barriers for disabled customers
-
Rolling out an Inclusive Product Design Guide and eLearning to support colleagues designing the products we create and sell
Boots continues to support the Hidden Disability Sunflower and Dementia Friend schemes alongside offering inclusivity training for team members and offer assistive technology on boots.com to enable visitors to adapt the site to meet their need. As in previous years, its iconic Christmas Gift Guide is available in braille and audio.
Jamie Kerruish said: “At Boots, we have proudly supported Purple Tuesday for five years and remain committed to creating a more inclusive shopping environment for disabled customers. This year, we are offering all our store colleagues the opportunity to learn and understand some key phrases in British Sign Language so they can continue to welcome and support some of our deaf and hard of hearing customers. I encourage other organisations to join the Purple Tuesday movement to ensure that the joy of shopping is accessible for all.”
