Whether you are treating yourself for a week in the sun or stopping off for a long weekend we all want to look our best on arrival. We know that flights can leave you a little worn-out so Boots Expert No7 Advisor Samantha Greaves gives us her top tips to ensure you step off that plane looking fresh faced and fabulous.

#1: Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

“The humidity inside a plane cabin is lower than in most deserts (about 25 per cent). This can result in dehydration, sensitivity and tired dull skin and hair. To avoid the effects of low humidity and retain moisture it’s best to take the necessary precautions. Whilst some styling products are a definite no when flying, a good trick is to take a small intense moisturiser for the skin and an oil or serum for your hair.”
Boots Style Works Heat Protect Serum 50ml (£2.59) is specially formulated to protect dry hair. It will help retain moisture whilst adding shine and definition. What’s more, it’s complete with UV filter to help leave hair feeling silky smooth and free from frizz. Another holiday essential is Botanics All Bright Hydrating Day Cream SPF15 50ml (£2.49) this rejuvenating moisturiser provides all day hydration and advanced protection from the damaging effects of UVA/UVB rays.

#2: Luminate your skin
“Avoid using a foundation whilst flying as these can end up drying out your skin. However, if you need a little pick me up try a tinted moisturiser – this will give you a bit of colour whilst keeping you hydrated. Then, for an added touch, apply concealer under the eyes to give a refreshed look.”

Try No7 Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser (£12), a natural and skin perfecting tinted moisturiser that contains 5-Star UVA protection and SPF 15. Perfect for giving your skin advanced protection from the sun when you step off into the sunshine.

#3: Add a little colour
“Tiredness and dehydration can lead to your skin looking a little washed out. To help avoid this, pack a bronzer in your hand luggage and use before stepping off the plane. Then, to finish the look add a pop of colour to your lips to ensure you’re looking super glam ready to party.”

Try SEVENTEEN Lip Crayons (£4.99) a handbag essential that will add the wow factor whilst leaving your lips feeling moisturised.

Another holiday must have is the SEVENTEEN Define & Conquer Contour Kit (£5.99) - the darker powder defines and the lighter illuminates. Simply use the brush to apply the darker powder to your cheeks, jawline and sides of your nose before swapping to the lighter powder to cover your forehead, chin and top of your cheek bones creating a gorgeously contoured look. This awesome little kit has everything you need to get those celeb cheek bones from your hand luggage!

#4: Widen those eyes
Whether you’re not a plane sleeper, or simply want to step out and party as soon as the wheels hit the run way sometimes it’s easier to fake those 8 hours! Try Boots Pharmaceuticals Tired Eyes Eye Drops (£3.10), dry or tired eyes need gentle refreshment and this is perfect for helping to soothe eyes and keep them moisturised.

For that added wow factor No7 Advisor Samantha Greaves says “Grab your favourite mascara and cover the top lashes, focusing on the centre and outer corner - skip the bottom lashes to avoid adding to dark areas and looking more tired. The NEW No7 Dramatic Lift Mascara (£13.50), can widen eyes and add volume to your lashes, enabling women to feel feminine and gorgeous. Taking inspiration from popular treatment in effective hair care treatments, Taking inspiration from popular hair care technology the No7 Dramatic Lift Mascara coats lashes from root to tip, making them thicker and defined. What’s more, the handy styling brush helps to lift the lashes, lifting them by up to 70%.”
