With the vaccination process going in full swing, Prime Minister Boris Johnson paid a visit to the Boots hub vaccinating local residents in his constituency.
The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the store team, with Seb James, Boots UK Managing Director in attendance.
Mr Johnson conducted a tour around the store and new vaccination centre before meeting the pharmacy team and speaking to several patients who shared how positive they felt about receiving their vaccination at the store. Before leaving, the Prime Minister thanked the whole team for their contribution and dedication.
Speaking after the visit Rajan Guru, Uxbridge Store Manager, shared: “My team and I are incredibly proud to support the NHS by delivering COVID-19 vaccinations to residents in the local community. It is amazing that our Prime Minister Boris Johnson has visited us in Uxbridge – it means the hard work and dedication of our colleagues throughout the pandemic is being recognised.”
Boots opened its first vaccination site in Halifax in January and has helped more than 60,000 patients from the local community receive their first vaccine at the store. The UK’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer now offers vaccinations at 16 pharmacies across England, with plans to expand further to more Boots stores in the coming weeks.
Thanks to its 172-year history, Boots has extensive knowledge, experience and proven capability in vaccination services making it well placed to support the NHS in delivering the vaccine across the UK.
Patients will be invited directly by the NHS to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment at the Boots pharmacy sites.
