Local MP Rishi Sunak (Richmond) visited Boots Pharmacy Stokesley today to see first-hand how the NHS flu vaccination service is being provided in a community pharmacy setting.

As a key partner to the NHS, Boots UK is offering the NHS flu vaccination service in Boots pharmacies across the UK. This service aims to make it easier than ever for our customers and patients to get a flu jab and increase the number of at risk people across the country being protected from ill health over the winter months.

Rishi Sunak MP said: “This is an accessible community pharmacy NHS service and like previous years, I would urge all my constituents who are eligible for a free flu jab to ensure they have one. As winter draws nearer, many people will suffer with ill health, especially older people aged 65 and over and adults with certain medical conditions, and they can benefit from the NHS flu vaccination service. The scheme will also help protect people from health complications through the winter months.

Jenny Graham, Boots Area Manager, comments: “We’ve been supporting the health of the local community in Stokesley for many years and we are pleased to be offering the NHS flu vaccination service again this year. It is a great opportunity for those more ‘at risk’ groups to have their vaccination and protect themselves during the winter months.

“This is a great example of just one of the ways community pharmacy is supporting the NHS to deliver important services in the local community. Our customers and patients can book their flu vaccination with us at a time and location to suit them, and our brilliant pharmacists will be on hand to answer any questions.”

Boots offers the free NHS flu jab to eligible people aged 18 and over in more than 2,000 pharmacies in England and Wales. For those who aren’t eligible for the free NHS flu jab, Boots offers a private Winter Flu Jab Service for customers aged 16 and over in most Boots pharmacies across the UK. And this year, our private service is also available to customers from the age of 10 years, in selected stores. The private Winter Flu Jab Service costs £12.99.
