COVID-19: An important message from James Arrow, Managing Director, Boots Opticians

23 March 2020
Feature Healthcare

Dear customers,

Today we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close our Opticians and Hearingcare stores across the UK in order to protect the health and well-being of our customers and our team in these challenging times.

A small number of 'hub' opticians stores will remain open to care for those with essential or emergency eye care needs. You can view a list of these stores at bootsopticians.com from Tuesday 24th March.

What should I do next?

  • If you have a problem with your glasses or contact lenses that cannot wait or an eye sight problem that means you require emergency care, please contact our team on 0345 125 3768
  • If you currently have an appointment booked in with us, our store team will be in touch with you.
  • If you have a glasses order in progress, our store team will be in touch with you this week to arrange delivery. If you have any queries or concerns please contact our team on 0345 125 3768.

A huge thanks to our team who have worked tirelessly up until this point to keep services open with great care and community spirit.

We are constantly monitoring the situation, working with government guidance and the NHS, and we will open our doors again as soon as we can. We look forward to seeing you back with us when that time comes.

Take every care.

James Arrow

2024 marks Boots’ 175th anniversary year. Founder John Boot opened a herbalist store in Nottingham in 1849 to offer an affordable alternative to traditional medicines. His son Jesse expanded the business to become a modern retailer and the biggest chemist in Britain. Throughout its history, Boots has listened, learned and innovated, and it continues to challenge itself to improve its products and services every day.
