The eBook, called ‘Let’s Inspire – work experience and apprenticeships’ launched online last week and was written to support businesses in creating exciting and engaging apprenticeship and work experience programmes.  The interactive eBook provides examples of Boots UK initiatives and case studies of other local and national businesses, along with a free toolkit.  The toolkit offers several useful templates and links that can be used to create tailored work experience and apprenticeship programmes.

Stephen Lehane, Human Resources Director, Health and Beauty Division, Alliance Boots, says: “The ‘Let’s Inspire – work experience and apprenticeships’ eBook is a really useful and engaging guide for employers who want to create opportunities for young people, but may need some support in how to do this. As a long term member of Business in the Community, Boots UK has partnered with other member and non-member organisations to offer broad experiences and advice in a collaborated response to such an important issue.  We currently have 45 apprentices at Boots UK and the Boots Opticians apprenticeship program has 825 including intermediate and advanced apprenticeships.”

The eBook has been written with support from other local and national businesses including BT, Marston’s, Greggs, Shoosmith’s, Scott Bailye Hairdressing, Timpson, Gelder Group and Care Learning, all of whom have contributed to the book by sharing experiences about how they have been supporting young people into the workplace and or education.

The eBook is free and easy to download and available at www.bootslearning.co.uk/letsinspire
