The River Street Boots Opticians in Truro, Cornwall, has been voted one of the best in the country at the prestigious Optician Awards 2018 in Birmingham, where it won the ‘Multiple Practice of the Year’ award before an audience of 400 industry professionals.

The Optician Awards celebrate excellence in eye care and Eve Lambert, Practice Manager, and her team were acknowledged for the level of care they show for every patient and customer that chooses Boots Opticians, and are honoured to have had their hard work acknowledged.

Eve, said: “We’ve never been prouder of our team; they’re so committed to customer care and community, whilst still understanding what it takes to make a business successful. To have that acknowledged by optical industry leaders and peers is an achievement we could only have dreamed of.”

In their nomination for the ‘Multiple Practice of the Year’ award, River Street Boots Opticians was recognised for its unrivalled clinical, commercial and community success, as well as its commitment to learning and development. Eve Lambert regularly nominates her colleagues to attend dispensing courses and leadership training, so the whole team is able to provide the very best care to the local community.

The team also recently received the ‘Practice of the Year’ award at the Boots Opticians internal Shine Awards 2017, and they are well-known for more than just excellent service. Charity and community are at the heart of their practice, with clinical and retail colleagues regularly taking part in bake sales and mud-runs to raise money for local charities. With their positive attitude and friendly setting, River Street Boots Opticians is a destination of choice for eye care in the local community.

Katie Berriman, Area Opticians Manager, Devon and Cornwall, comments: “Watching one of your teams win such a prestigious award and seeing the joy and support it’s brought to them, their local community and the wider company, brings home just how special winning this award is.”

This annual Optician Awards is run by Optician Magazine, and winning an Optician Award is considered one of the highest accolades optical professionals, practices and companies can achieve. The awards aim to honour professionals and teams across the industry, to celebrate their outstanding hard work and dedication to patient care and innovation within optics.
