Macmillan Cancer Support’s Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace on 31 January. The event recognised and thanked exceptional volunteers for their life-changing contributions to helping people living with cancer.
The reception focused on the contribution these supporters have made, and celebrated the vital role volunteers play at Macmillan. We are delighted that six Boots UK colleagues attended the prestigious event, all of which have gone above and beyond their volunteer role.
The Six Boots UK colleagues who attended the reception, including two Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists (BMIPs), two Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors (BMBAs) and two Direct Service Volunteers (DSVs), were selected by a panel of four Macmillan Executives. They received an invitation to this prestigious event for their ongoing contributions to Macmillan Cancer Support, and the differences they are making in their local communities.
Boots UK has worked in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support since 2009, with the aim of helping everyone access the cancer information and support they need, in a place that’s every day, familiar and trusted.
Today we have 2,258 Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists and 1,023 Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors, all of which are trained to help improve the lives of people living with cancer, their loved ones and their carers.
