Botanics is excited to announce that all of their skincare and beauty portfolio is now approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, further reinforcing their strong ethical standpoint and unwavering commitment to ending animal testing. Botanics products are now approved with the globally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free cosmetics and personal care products.

This most recent accreditation joins Botanics already impressive collection of ethical credentials. All Botanics products are human tested, cruelty free, suitable for vegans and sourced from sustainable ingredients, and steps are taken at every single stage of the product journey to reduce their environmental impact.

Sophie Usher, Global Brand Manager, said: "Botanics believes that beauty products should be cruelty free and we are proud to be ‘Leaping Bunny’ approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. All of our skincare and beauty products are now approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products."

The result of months of hard work and commitment, this approval covers the entirety of the Botanics skincare and beauty range, with the Leaping Bunny logo being added to all product packaging in due course.

While companies sometimes claim cruelty free status, this does not always include an analysis of the entire supply chain down to raw materials and ingredients. Leaping Bunny approval requires these checks, as well as regular, on-going audits. The Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny is the only internationally recognisable programme that monitors every stage of the product journey. This enables the customer to easily identify cruelty free products so that they can make an informed and ethical decision about their shopping, safe in the knowledge that the brand is doing everything it can to remove animal testing from its entire supply chain and that the claim is subject to audit.

The Leaping Bunny is the globally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free cosmetics, personal care, household and cleaning products and demonstrates that a brand is genuinely committed to removing animal resting from its supply chain.

Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International, said: "We are thrilled that Botanics is joining the Leaping Bunny family. Botanics is an iconic brand, and cruelty free shoppers everywhere will be delighted by this news. With the recent introduction of the new Humane Cosmetics Act in the Senate and House in the USA and on-going bills in countries like Brazil and Canada that aim to end cosmetics animal testing, the powerful signals sent by brands that gain Leaping Bunny approval can only help us in our bid to get these laws passed and put a global end to the use of animals in cosmetics testing."

Across the globe, more individuals than ever before are realising that cosmetic animal testing is an antiquated practice that can all too easily be replaced by advancements in technology. As a skincare brand with a passionate ethical stance committed to honesty, transparency, integrity and being cruelty free, an acknowledgement in the form of the Leaping Bunny from Cruelty Free International is an invaluable leap in the right direction for Botanics.
