Boots has been approved by Cruelty Free International's Leaping Bunny programme across its own-brand cosmetics and personal care range*, becoming the biggest range of Leaping Bunny approved beauty products on the UK high street.
The Leaping Bunny Programme is the globally recognised standard for assessing cruelty-free cosmetics and personal care products. Over 500 Boots own-brand beauty products including cosmetics, skincare, personal care and grooming are now Leaping Bunny approved – a big hop in the right direction for affordable and accessible cruelty-free beauty!
Boots’ popular own-brand labels such as Soltan, Natural Collection, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel, Boots Ingredients and Boots Vitamin C have joined its other Leaping Bunny approved brands, such as 17., Botanics, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle Beauty Co. Boots' exclusive own label lines start from as little as £1.50, and Advantage Card holders can enjoy 10% off the full range, in-store and online.
For 175 years, Boots has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to operating as a socially responsible business. In 1975 Boots stopped conducting or commissioning animal testing on its own-brand products – 23 years ahead of the UK Government’s policy ban on cosmetics animal testing. As part of Boots commitment to minimise its impact on the environment, it removed all plastic wet wipes from its shelves in 2023, and now only offers bio-degradable, plant-based alternatives. Boots also switched its own-brand cotton wool products to GOT (Global Organic Textiles Standard) certified organic alternatives in a bid to help customers make more sustainable choices.
