This World Pharmacists Day, we're highlighting some of the incredible work and amazing stories of lifesaving, kindness and hard work that from our Boots pharmacists up and down the country. Pharmacists are often unsung heroes in the healthcare profession, but we're taking this chance to say thank you to all our pharmacist and celebrate the vital service they provide to communities across the UK.
Spotting the warning signs
Pharmacists like Paula are often the first to notice the early warning signs of potentially life-threatening illnesses. In what would otherwise be a routine treatment, Paula noticed the warning signs that it could be blood-pressure related. Thanks to her intervention, the patient is now undergoing further checks with doctors and is signed up to the Boots New Medicine Service.
Going the extra mile
When pharmacists like Mandy know they can help, they won't think twice about going the extra mile to help a patient. Urgent action like in Mandy's case can often be the difference that means a patient receiving treatment in time.
Award-winning care
It's always fantastic when Boots pharmacists get recognised for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to Sally and her team!
Delivering new services for better health outcomes
The NHS Hypertension Service is free for over 40s at Boots and is just one of the new services our pharmacists are now offering on the high-street. Heather used the service to to great and potentially saved the life of one of her patients.
Making a difference
Pharmacists like Alison, Nargas and Julie are increasingly the first port of call for patients on the high street. They will say that spotting the warning signs of a dangerous illness is all in a day's work, but it is always heart-warming to see such gratitude from a patient's friends and family.
