Our work with WE

Boots UK champions everyone’s right to feel good and is committed to making a real difference locally.

We’re working in partnership with WE to empower a generation of young people in Nottingham to fulfil their potential by developing their personal wellbeing and workplace readiness through social action, as part of their educational programme, WE Schools. Since 2017, Boots and WE have reached over 13,000 young people from across Nottinghamshire through WE Feel Good programme speaking tours, as well as enabling young people to attend WE Day events in London and Nottingham.

By integrating Boots’ trusted healthcare advice and their WE Schools learning framework, we’ll create a student led positive health and wellbeing campaign empowering young people to feel good about themselves and build a community of people who truly care about changing lives every day. Utilising the breadth of Boots career opportunities, we’ll enhance the WE Schools social action experience enabling young people to identify and develop functional skills so they can confidently explore and access tangible pathways into future employment.

We believe that building the confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills of young people will lead to the next generation of healthier, happier, active citizens.

Bringing WE Day to Nottingham in our 170th year

To celebrate the actions of these incredible change-makers, young people have the opportunity to attend WE’s signature youth empowerment event, WE Day. WE Day is a powerful, life-changing event that combines the energy of a live concert with the inspiration of extraordinary stories of leadership and change. WE Day brings together world-renowned speakers and Award-winning performers with tens of thousands of young people to celebrate their contributions and kick-start another year of change.

In November 2019, WE hosted the first WE Day Community Nottingham with Boots as co-title sponsor. The event brought together over 2,000 young people and teachers from across Nottinghamshire in the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall. The young people earned their way by taking action on local and global causes that they are passionate about. WE Day connects these young people to their communities and the rest of the world by helping them share their stories of social action. From raising awareness about homelessness to fighting climate change, the event celebrated their year of creating a lasting difference in their communities. This inspiring celebration for social good featured renowned speakers, innovative thought leaders and dynamic performers.
