Environmental incidents

Our policy is to maintain records of all environmental incidents, including details of the actions taken to prevent recurrence. Incidents are classified broadly from Class 1 (low) - where the incident is confined to the immediate area - to Class 3 (high) - where the incident is not contained within the outer boundary of Boots UK premises. Prosecutions or the involvement of regulatory agencies, for example, are automatically designated as Class 3 (high), even if the incident itself is confined to the immediate area or contained within the outer boundary of premises.

There were no prosecutions during 2008/09.

We had one Class 3 incident where a noise abatement notice was issued to our Boots UK store in Warwick. This related to the 5am stock delivery. The delivery time was changed to 7am to meet the terms of this notice.
