Helping to inspire young people
We believe that you're never too young to start learning about healthy living. That's why we provide information on this topic to inspire young people and resources that help teachers to deliver the school curriculum.

We use our website bootslearningstore.com to promote health messages to children and young people aged 4 to 16. The website, launched in 2002, was developed in partnership with education consultants, our own experts, teachers and pupils. It's a great way for us to share our knowledge and expertise and bring health information to life in a stimulating and inspiring way.
The site is linked to the key stages of the national curriculum and includes content on personal hygiene, sun safety, skin, eyesight, head lice, reproduction, puberty, periods, smoking, contraception, STI's, alcohol and drugs. It also provides teachers notes, including lesson plans and ideas for classroom activity.
In 2007/08 bootslearningstore.com had over 1.2 million pages downloaded.
Lifestyle Lounge
The Lifestyle Lounge is bootslearningstore.com's 'big sister' site for teenagers aged 16+. It tackles popular teenage lifestyle issues such as hair, skin, contraception, travel, fitness and eating disorders. It has become a source of information and advice on topics that aren't always easy to speak to an adult about.
Change One Thing Schools
After two successful years of helping thousands of our customers to stick to their healthy New Year's resolution with the Change One Thing campaign, we have used our experience at Boots to develop a new resource for teachers and students.
Change One Thing Schools is a free website for secondary schools, targeting 11-14 year olds.
The interactive site aims to encourage young people to think about their health. It focuses on healthy eating, being active and the effects of smoking, and helps students to develop the skills they need to make healthy choices. An action plan will help students who want to make a healthy change.
This new resource builds on our existing primary & secondary schools website Boots Learning Store.
Work experience
Another important part of our support for education is giving young people experience of the world of work. Over 1,200 students each year spend time working with us, learning about the skills required by employers.
All retail/pharmacy placements are organised by our stores. For more information please contact the store manager of your nearest Boots.
