Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the very heart of our company, and this area of our website provides details of the processes, initiatives and performance within our leading United Kingdom (UK) pharmacy-led health and beauty retailing business.

As a member of Alliance Boots, the Boots UK information within this area is supplementary to the 2007/08 Alliance Boots CSR report (This link will open in a new window) which covers CSR activities and processes across the whole Group.

Boots has a long history of publicly reporting performance, with previous reports often reviewing five year environmental trends, for example. The Boots UK information within this site now includes integrated data from our two former retail businesses (Boots The Chemists and Alliance Pharmacy) following the merger between Boots Group PLC and Alliance UniChem Plc in 2006. Unless otherwise stated, therefore, our data either establishes new baselines or reports two year trends where available.

In May 2009 we completed the merger of Boots Opticians and Dollond & Aitchison.  The data on this site currently includes the former Boots Opticians business as at the 31st March 2008.
